MULTIMEDIA IN EDUCATION ~ 2D Graphic Editing Software

Assalamualaikum.. have a wonderful day to all of you..
During this 9th week learning session, my classmates and I learn about 2D Graphic Editing Software, which is our 6th Assignment.
We learn about the types of 2D Graphic, bitmap and vector images.
Here is the example of Bitmap and Vector Image.

If you notice, the quality of vector images is higher than bitmap. Vector images uses geometrical formulas to represent images. The other way used by bitmap because the images is made up of pattern of dots.

Vector graphics are more flexible than bitmap because they can be easily re-sized. Plus, images stored as vector look better when displayed on high resolution printers and monitors. Bitmap images look the same, regardless of the resolution of the display.
Next, after knowing about those images, we have to draw a graphic or images file format using whether JPEG, GIFF, TIFF, BMP, WMF or PNG on Microsoft Paint.
At first, go to Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Paint.
These is the graphic that I've been done..
Then, here is the examples of images that I make using Shapes and Smart Art Powerpoint..

We had learn about Open Office, GIMP, Microsoft Word Publisher and Microsoft Word on how to create a brochures.
Open Office functions as almost the same as Microsoft Office, however Microsoft Word have more functions compare to Open Office. Open Office is a free software that can be downloaded
from http://www.openoffice.org, while the Microsoft Office is a software that we have to pay for it. Open Office need just a small space, that is about 150Mb.
Next is GIMP. GIMP is a Photoshop look alike with layers. Before that, we must download and install it from http://www.gimp.org/windows/ free software raster graphics editor. GIMP can accomplish essentials image editing tasks such as resizing, editing, and cropping photos, combining multiple image, and converting between image formats. GIMP can also be used to create animated images in many formats, for instance GIF and MPEG.

Guys, I'm sorry..perhaps my drawing is not as good as what you guys have done. I'm still learning on how to create a good images using all 2D Graphic Editing Software..
By the way, thanks for reading my blog..(n_n)..

COMPUTER IN EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH ~ Online Questionnaire

Assalamualaikum and have a good day guys..

SURVEY MONKEY QUESTIONNAIRE
Assignment for this week is quite easy for me and my partner, Ummi Amira Bt. Yacob to do because we just need to create a simple questionnaire for survey research on the topic we had chosen and again, our topic is about Web 2.0.

For me and those who are not really familiar with the survey monkey, we need to studies about the structures of it and try on how to create an online questionnaire. After we master it, we have to create the survey based on our topics.  The questionnaire we are creating must be a multiple choice questions with only one answer.

We had created the survey and hope you guys do visit this website http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KP335QN to be one of the respondent in our mini research.
Thank you very much for your cooperation doing this survey. (n_n) .

GOOGLE DOCUMENT QUESTIONNAIRE

Done with our online questionnaire, me and my partner have to design a questionnaire using Google Document via Form. We need to retype our questionnaire, that is about Web 2.0 in Education in Google Doc. or Form.

The questionnaire must be printed and distributed to any students in our campus.
We both must at least gets 10 respondents.
After this lesson, I know:
1) How to create an online questionnaire using Survey Monkey.
2) How to design a questionnaire by using Form in Google Doc.

COMPUTER IN EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH~Research Process

Assalamualaikum and hye to all..
I'm really sorry because I'm late doing my reflection on blog for this topic. I have some problem with my PC. By the way, sorry once again..(n_n)

EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH PROCESS
Research is orderly investigation of a subject for the purpose of adding knowledge. Research can mean 're-search' implying that the subject matter is already known but, needs to be studied again. The expression can be used without a hyphen and in this case it typically investigating a new problem or phenomenon.
There are few types of Educational Research:
  • Historical Research
  • Descriptive Research
  • Correlational Research
  • Causal Research
  • Experimental Research
  • Case Study Research
  • Ethnographic Research
  • Research and Development Research
These information I got from:

Conducting education research involves the exploration, description, explanation or prediction of educational phenomenon by using systematic data collection and analysis procedures.

All educational research studies should follow a Planning, Data Gathering and Analysis and Reporting process consisting a few steps:
  1. Identify the problem or topic
  2. Review prior research
  3. Determine the purpose, research questions, or hypothesis
  4. Consider research implications
  5. Construct a research proposal
  6. Gather data
  7. Analyze data
  8. Determine findings
  9. Report conclusions, implications and limitations

PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism has been around for a long time. Many people thinks that plagiarism as copying another's work or borrowing someone else's original product, however it is an act of fraud that involves stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward.

I have read from many source about plagiarism and it all bring the same gist of definition. Based on Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, plagiarism means stealing or passing off the ideas of others as one's own, using other's production without editing the source and presenting as new and original ideas derived from existing source.

LITERATURE REVIEW

From what I've read about Literature Review at the Website of Monash College, Literature Review can be define as a discussion of writings that are similar to yours that add something valuable to your project. Lit reviews provide crucial background information for understanding your own research. A lit review also contextualizes your research within existing research. Literature reviews are located towards the beginning of your paper project, so that you can refer to the readings discussed in the literature review throughout the paper.
The major activities of writing Literature Review include:
  • determine the scope of the review
  • finding, reading, selecting and rejecting articles and books
  • making notes
  • determining what facts, issues, themes, etc., are relevant
  • making inferences, identifying lacunae and drawing conclusions
  • determining the gross and detailed structure of the review
  • actually writing the review itself.
