EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH PROCESS
Research is orderly investigation of a subject for the purpose of adding knowledge. Research can mean 're-search' implying that the subject matter is already known but, needs to be studied again. The expression can be used without a hyphen and in this case it typically investigating a new problem or phenomenon.
There are few types of Educational Research:
  • Historical Research
  • Descriptive Research
  • Correlational Research
  • Causal Research
  • Experimental Research
  • Case Study Research
  • Ethnographic Research
  • Research and Development Research
These information I got from:

Conducting education research involves the exploration, description, explanation or prediction of educational phenomenon by using systematic data collection and analysis procedures.

All educational research studies should follow a Planning, Data Gathering and Analysis and Reporting process consisting a few steps:
  1. Identify the problem or topic
  2. Review prior research
  3. Determine the purpose, research questions, or hypothesis
  4. Consider research implications
  5. Construct a research proposal
  6. Gather data
  7. Analyze data
  8. Determine findings
  9. Report conclusions, implications and limitations

PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism has been around for a long time. Many people thinks that plagiarism as copying another's work or borrowing someone else's original product, however it is an act of fraud that involves stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward.

I have read from many source about plagiarism and it all bring the same gist of definition. Based on Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, plagiarism means stealing or passing off the ideas of others as one's own, using other's production without editing the source and presenting as new and original ideas derived from existing source.

LITERATURE REVIEW

From what I've read about Literature Review at the Website of Monash College, Literature Review can be define as a discussion of writings that are similar to yours that add something valuable to your project. Lit reviews provide crucial background information for understanding your own research. A lit review also contextualizes your research within existing research. Literature reviews are located towards the beginning of your paper project, so that you can refer to the readings discussed in the literature review throughout the paper.
The major activities of writing Literature Review include:
  • determine the scope of the review
  • finding, reading, selecting and rejecting articles and books
  • making notes
  • determining what facts, issues, themes, etc., are relevant
  • making inferences, identifying lacunae and drawing conclusions
  • determining the gross and detailed structure of the review
  • actually writing the review itself.
